Disorders of the possession of thought

These disorders include thought insertion (a sensation that some outside agency is putting thoughts into one's mind), thought withdrawal (the opposite experience), and thought broadcasting (the belief that one's thoughts are being communicated to other people). Strictly speaking, these could be considered to be delusions, although often the experience is described in such a matter-of-fact way by the patient that it seems to be a phenomenon that is real to them, and it is by custom classified separately. Thought block is the abrupt complete cessation of a train of thought.
