Distribution

The species of the subfamily Kerivoulinae extend through central and southern Africa, and from India east to China, throughout southeast Asia, Indonesia, New Guinea and northeastern Australia. The subfamily Miniopterinae reaches into central and southern Africa, as well as Madagascar, and from southern Europe and Asia north into China, and also New Guinea, Indonesia, and Australia. slightly less widespread, reaching from southern Asia north into China, and through Indonesia, New Guinea, and northeast Australia. Tomopeas is found strictly in western Peru.
