Sebaceous adenomas and sebaceous epitheliomas can be treated with excision, cryosurgery, or curettage. Mohs micrographic surgery is recommended for lesions of sebaceous carcinoma. Oral retinoids may prevent the formation of new sebaceous neoplasms in patients with MTS.

Complete and regular examinations for gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancer are recommended, and some suggest annual colonoscopy beginning at age 25. Women should have routine gynecologic examinations consisting of yearly breast and pelvic examinations and Pap smears, supplemented by endometrial aspiration or biopsy and transvaginal ultrasound as needed starting at age 30.
