TABLE 1 Modified Diagnostic Criteria for KD

The diagnosis of KD is considered confirmed by the presence of fever and at least three of five clinical signs with supportive laboratory data:

1. Bilateral conjunctival injection

2. Changes of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract: injected pharynx, injected, fissured lips, and strawberry tongue

3. Changes of the peripheral extremities: peripheral edema, peripheral erythema, and periungual desquamation

4. Polymorphous rash

5. Cervical adenopathy
