What Can You Evaluate on an Abdominal Radiograph

The liver can be differentiated from the rest of the abdominal contents and its size can be roughly estimated. While frequently there are intestinal loops projecting over the spleen, this is an uncommon finding in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen (Fig. 9.2a). An exception to this rule is the interposition of colon between the right diaphragm and the liver, also termed Chilaiditi syndrome
