In practice, it is not unusual for people to experience flatulence, bloating and mild abdominal discomfort when they start to use psyllium; however, these symptoms can reduce with long-term use.
Vi/ Although psyllium is considered a safe substance, it should not be used by people with partial or complete bowel obstruction, colonic impaction or stenosis of the gastrointestinal tract.
According to Commission E, blond psyllium seed is contraindicated if there is difficulty regulating diabetes mellitus.
