Adenocarcinoma of the kidney has a great diversity of presenting symptoms, including:

• general symptoms of neoplasia

• signs of anaemia

• left supraclavicular lymphadenopathy varicocele

• hypertension

• symptoms of metastases (to liver, lungs, brain, bones)

o respiratory symptoms o neurological symptoms and signs o bone pain o pathological fracture (vertebral collapse)

• urinalysis: 67% positive for blood

The classic triad of symptoms (in 10-15% of patients) is: 2

• haematuria

• palpable kidney mass
